Picked up 1 of my 2 shirts today from my tailor. It was my first time getting tailor-made shirts, so I forgot to specify how the bottom of my shirt should look like… and there’s some miscommunication regarding the collar style, so they’ll fix it for me. I’m pretty happy with the other one that I picked up. 2 shirts for 1600 rupees, 600 for tailoring, 1000 for material (I picked the lower priced ones). Even my local colleague thought it was pretty good price.
Last time I asked them, they quoted suit for Rs 6300 to 7000, pants for Rs 1400.
Food is great here, and cheap. Across from Diamond District (where I stay) there’s Bombay Post… very very good food! Grilled prawns with Indian spices, lamb soaked overnight in yogurt (for tenderness. IndiJoe was pretty good, more western food. Crossover (across from Diamond District too, above Adidas). Saigon (MG Road area, Church Street) Thai/Viet/Singapore food: The manager gave us free dessert and gave us a tour to their kitchen too. Have been eating too much…. bought a basketball and have been shooting some hoops.
